The Gallo Center for the Arts hosts two renowned theatres: the Mary Stuart Rogers Theater and the Foster Family Theater. These are huge fully decked-out auditoriums that are the perfect place to watch an amazing performance.

Whether it’s dance, theater, or music; all the shows that go on here are definitely worth it. If you’re a lover of the arts, you can’t pass up a visit to the Gallo Center for the Arts.

The Modesto Certified Farmers’ Market

Fresh produce, local goods, and artisanal vendors can all be found at the Modesto Certified Farmers’ Market. This outdoor market has been running for the past 30 years and it’s developed quite a reputation within the Modesto community.

George Lucas Celebrations

Did you know that the famous American film director, George Lucas, was born and raised in Modesto, California?

Modesto loves the George Lucas legacy so much that the entire month of June is dedicated to his artistic legacy – most specifically, the hit film ‘American Graffiti’. The summertime in Modesto is nicknamed Graffiti Summers, and you’ll find tons of celebrations going on all over the city.

Virginia Corridor Trailway

If you’re a lover of the outdoors, you need to check out Modesto’s Virginia Corridor Trailway. This beautiful California trail is over 4 miles long and goes through shady areas, picnic spots, bathrooms, and cool local historic spots.

The most beautiful part of the Virginia Corridor Trailway is the gorgeous gardens that line the trail. Keep your eyes out for some of California’s most beautiful and fragrant indigenous plants.

Yosemite National Park

While not located in the heart of Modesto, the Yosemite National Park is a big attraction for the city. This famous national park is over 1,000 miles of natural land, beautiful wildlife, and fresh air. Everyone should try to make it out to the Yosemite.
