Kanye West Expands His Real Estate Portfolio with a Second Wyoming Ranch

In September 2019, it was reported that Kanye West, famous American musician and fashion designer, had purchased a ranch down in Wyoming worth over $14 million. Two months later, Kanye just closed another ranch property near Cody at a whopping $14.5 million.

The first property consists of 4,500 acres, filled with wildlife, beautiful views, and privacy. The land features two main houses (a five bedroom home with a large fireplace, and a three bedroom home with a sauna), alongside multiple smaller cabins, and two helicopter pads. Around 75 miles away is their newest purchase of 6,731 acres.

Why is Kanye focusing his real estate purchases in Wyoming?

Besides just expanding his real estate portfolio, Kanye mentions that he fell in love with Wyoming and it’s been his dream and vision.

Furthermore, Kanye is planning on moving his billion-dollar company Yeeze out of California to Wyoming since California seems to be against innovation. With a rigid regulatory structure, he felt irritated, especially after being asked to tear down his homeless domes for being 10 feet too high.  “Ten feet? On my own 300-acre property? And we could have handled it…but [they] wanted to go to the press to let everyone know [they] were tearing down Kanye’s domes.”

Wyoming is much more relaxed when it comes to building restrictions, however, not as relaxed as Kanye thought. His construction was halted for breaking ground without a permit. Once permit is approved, Kanye will be back to his construction and expansion of his ranch.
